The queen of the 1980's "Theme" dolls, this particular Strawberry Shortcake doll is Strawberry Shortcake herself, (and her cat Custard). These dolls have fruit& food themes and are scented. Some dolls came with pets. Based on characters from greeting cards, this popular doll line included play sets, clothing, and many accessories. There was also a series of miniatures, rag dolls, plush pets, as well as numerous other items (kitchenware, bedding, etc.)

This is Apple Dumplin'. She is an example of the smaller size. Note the flat hands. Early dolls and babies have this type of hands.
